Hi all. I got 3 questions about CR1 interview. Hope someone can help me out.

1. How long usually takes for embassy give you interview date after case completed at NVC side?

2. Is there another form the beneficiary need to filled out to take to the interview? (Other than all those supporting documents)

3. Do I need to pay another IV fees? I ask that because I saw in the embassy website about pay something like a $165 IV fee before the interview. I hope that's just for the K1 people not CR1.

Thank you all for advance.

Can't help with the interview scheduling question. Did you do an expedite because of Yolanda?

Everything required by the embassy is listed in their instructions letter. The do want a CENOMAR (CEMAR) ... this is missed by more then a few IR/CR-1

http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/865058/instructionpackets/IV%20Applicants_%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20_as%20of%2017%20September%202013_%20without%20footer.pdf

The only $165 fee I know of is to USCIS (K-1 do not pay this) for your green card to be issued, does not have to be paid before the interview.

http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023/wwwh3023/useful-information/qs-and-as-uscis-immigrant-visa-fees/qs-and-as-uscis-immigrant-fee.html

Only applicants issued visas on or after February 1, 2013 will pay the new fee. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the airport or land border will review immigration records to determine when your immigrant visa was issued. If the visa was issued on or after February 1, 2013 but the fee was not paid, the Immigrant Visa package will be collected at the point of entry, but USCIS will not issue a green card until the $165.00 fee is paid.

1. For regular cases, interview date is usually about a month after case complete. For expedited cases, you choose your own schedule online, or call the hotline to give you an earlier sched since you were expedited.

2. What Hank said :)

3. No need to pay anything during the interview day if you have already paid the AOS and IV fees through nvc. $165 is paid once you receive your visa/before you leave the country.

I believe this expedite is only for immigrant visas, the K-1 is a non-immigrant visa. An expedite has nothing to do with passing the interview

Thank you all for answering my questions. I'm just using the normal process. So only about 1 month? I was worry because I read all those K1 people can't find any available dates for all the way up to June. I guess CR1 don't need to worry about over booked interview dates? How much advance notice do they give you before the scheduled interview date?

The medical exam I do aware of. But the part for the $223.35 examination fee I find it weird. According the instruction, we have to pay in peso. Why don't we just pay the dollar amount if we know the dollar amount but not the peso amount???

NO -

for CEMAR, you have to file for CENOMAR (certificate of no marriage/ singleness) and since you're already married they will issue you CEMAR (certificate of marriage) indicated there is the list, where, when at to whom you got married (all your marriage)

you can ask your spouse to file it at SM dept store and it takes 15 working days to issue.
