New priority date

Is it true that when an I129f case is transfered the priority date on the case is changed and USCIS counts the date of transfer as the starting date for the 180 day limit?

I am wondering about this because USCIS took there god willing time to transfer my case from Chicago to California.

I don't know what the official word is, but I am assuming that the priority date changes to when the service centre receives it and acknowledges it. Processing doesn't really happen until they get it. That's how I've been looking at my case, at the date of receipt at the service centre, not with the NOA1 date or the transfer date.

So does that mean your date is 12/19 and not 12/04?

For the most part it looks like they are still following the original priority dates - it would be even more unfair than their usual actions if they didn't. But I place very very little faith in the priority dates. They certainly give some sort of general idea, but no guarantee

I may be wrong on this.....But i really dont think that your priority date changes. It dosent make sense for them to change it. If they are to change it, then they would not send you a NOA1 with that date. According to official rules, if they are going to change the priority date when they transfer to any service center, then they should send you the NEW NOA1...but noone in the past has received a second NOA1 when they are transfered.

So, take it easy, I totally believe that the priority date is ONE and ONLY ONE.
