Hello everyone,

I'm a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals student. I applied for I-131 and since I'm DACA, my reason was humanitarian to visit my sick grandmother. I applied on January 6th to the Vermont Service Center.

A month passed and I didn't receive any information about my case. I was concerned because I needed to buy the tickets in advance and I had not received my Biometrics appointment. I called USCIS about this and requested to expedite for Financial Reasons, but however that request was denied.

Then, I received the news that my grandmother's condition is worse and her doctor suggested that I should go visit now while she's alive. I called again USCIS and talked to a Tier 2 officer and she said if it was an emergency I should go to my local USCIS office because as of now my case was okay with the processing times (up to 5 months) and that I did not need to do biometrics since I did mine less than 2 years ago.

Last week, I selected an appointment for next Monday at my local USCIS office.

Just now, I received an email from USCIS that says "The status of this service request is: On February 19, 2014, the Vermont Service Center transferred your case to the Texas Service Center (TSC). Please allow the TSC up to 30 days to receive your case before submitting another inquiry. We are unable to assist you until the case has been transferred into our office."

And then I went to check on the USCIS My Case Status and it says: "On February 19, 2014, we transferred your I131, APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed"

Does this mean that USCIS transferred my case to my local office because I have an appointment there soon?

Or did they transfer it to Texas Service Center? I'm so confused

Thank you!!
