Interview!

Hello,

So far I haven't encountered any problems with the K-1 visa, but tomorrow is my fiance's interview, and I'm very nervous.

All the documents are together, but I'm wondering if our skype records are enough to show proof of an ongoing relationship. We talk everyday over skype for usually large amounts of time. But I was wondering if the documents sent in the petition will also be reviewed at the interview? I sent a lot of photos, and itineraries in the petition. Do those need to be printed again and taken to the interview, or will they already have them?

You need anything to prove the relationship! Its best to show up to the interview with a boat load of paperwork then to show up with nothing at all. The more stuff the consulate official can put their hands on the more comfortable they feel granting the visa. These guys need to be able to justify their decision to grant the visa. The more the better!

The Rio consulate will already have any documents that you sent in with the petition, so you will not need to print out that relationship evidence again. If there is additional evidence that you want to provide then bring it to the interview, but (based on other Rio fiance interviews) if all of your other papers are in order it's unlikely that the consul will actually ask to see any additional evidence. That said, it's best to be prepared for anything. We had a stack of photos, emails, and telephone records. The consul didn't ask to see any of it, but if he had asked we had it ready. Be sure to read the recent Rio consulate reviews on this site as they will give you a very good idea of what to expect tomorrow.
