I am just now starting the process for obtainging a visa so me and the love of my life can finally be together. To cut to the chase me and my partner are gay. Is the process harder for us than say a normal hetero couple applying for the visa? Will I have to go above and beyond to achieve the same end result as normal couples? Has anyone had any experience with consular officers that hold interviews for same sex couples? Are they more discrimitory and less likely to approve the visa just because the 2 people applying are gay?

Same process and guide is used. Just make sure to include documentation about getting married in a state that allows SSM, if you do not reside in one that does.

Here are a few links. You can do a search to find more. There have been a few approvals of same-sex couples here on VJ already.
