I am the USC. My wife completed her biometrics 2 weeks ago. However, she just received another 797C scheduling her for another biometrics appointment early March. Reason given her was, “FBI was not able to process your fingerprint card.” I'm not comfortable with the 6-weeks delay this brings, so hopefully somebody can help with these 2 questions:

1. Can she go to the local Sheriff’s office and execute a fingerprint card there and take it to her second biometrics appointment? This would only be precautionary on her part in case her prints aren’t good again by USCIS.

2. Last biometrics appointment there was a large waiting room but only about 5 or 6 customers waiting. So I was wondering, could we re-schedule for an earlier appointment or even maybe just walk in? Anybody done this?

Thanks for your help.

Hi there,

You can walk in. I had problems with fingerprints before as well and I walked in for all the biometrics. It also depends on your local office but it doesn't hurt to try. In my case, my fingerprints failed twice and I had to get police clearance from local city.

Thanks, I think I'll try that. I wasn't sure if they'd allow walk-ins. My local USCIS doesn't seem to be overwhelmed so maybe we can give them some work.
