We're starting to get the documents ready for my husband's N-400 filing which he can send in on March 2nd. We currently have copies of the tax transcripts from 2011 and 2012 that we got last year when we filed for his ROC. We have filed our 2013 taxes but just have the tax return copy (we filed online) that we printed off. Would it be ok to just submit that with the two previous years of tax returns or would we be better off going to the local IRS office to have the 2013 transcript printed off? I just don't want to make a trip downtown and deal with the hassle if it's not totally necessary.

We also filed in March, taxes for last year weren't if due yet until April 15th, so just sent in the transcripts for the three previous years. 4-7 months can go by from the time you sent in your application and have your interview. And if your IO is like ours was, will want to see all of your update information. Had last years returns by then, have to bring in all of your originals.

Same thing between your interview and oath ceremony due to long delays, not as bad, but still have to update some of your information. Our ROC stage was delayed so long, USCIS requested the latest information from us, so what we supplied for that, they already had in their hands from the ROC stage for the citizenship stage. Not kidding on this.

Oh, my wife's IO complained because she had four years of tax returns, instead of just three as required.
