Hello,

I need some guidance for my friend's work visa issue.

At the moment he is holding L1A visa, expiring in June this year, and he is looking to file for H1B visa, both visa is sponsoring by the same company he is working at. What does he need to do in order to file for H1B? The company does support him with all the documents he needs for the visa.

Please kindly help. Thank you in advance.

We don't have that in our company. He has to hire his own lawyer to do it. Company only supports all the documents regarding the visa.

This is illegal. The employee is not allowed to hire a lawyer to do this. The company must hire the lawyer and pay for the process.
