I don't think killing him is right. Like David says, he's as close as it gets to deserving that kinda punishment... but not quite. They could very well humiliate him for the rest of his life if they wanted to. Make him pay for everything he's done, but while he's alive.

until some die hard yo-yos bust him outta jail and he tries to take control of the country again. would you be happy with someone who raped you in the past living next to you? probably the same applies for many in that country.

That's just ridiculous. What would making him "work for 40 years as punishment" prove? What sort of repentance would that be? OH, YOU HAVE TO WORK ONE DAY FOR EVERY PERSON YOU KILLED. THAT WILL TEACH YOU. OMGZoRZ! Then what? He was 69 years old. Are you going to have him make big rocks into small rocks?
