I was wondering where you have to go to vote? I just asked the Wife and she said she would have to go back home to vote. Are you able to change where you vote like here in the US ? I ask this because Yingluck voted in Bangkok and is not from Bangkok.

Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Sunday morning cast her vote at a polling unit at Khlong Lamchiak School in Bung Kum district.

She arrived at polling unit No 32 at 8.10am, where her name is number 174 on the list of eligible voters.

A large number of police and soldiers were deployed at the school to provide security for the caretaker premier.

Ms Yingluck's residence in Soi Yothin Pattana 3 was also heavily guarded.

After casting her vote, the prime minister urged all eligible voters to exercise their right to do the same.

She and other cabinet members are expected to monitor the rest of election day at the Office of the Defence Permanent Secretary at Muang Thong Thani on Chaeng Wattana Road.

Have to go vote where your registered in the blue book (tabien Baan). Which sucks for alot of people because they may live in Bangkok and rent an apartment there, but have to all the way back home to vote where they registered. Same thing with the ID card, that's another pain in the a$$. My wife had to travel 400 miles just to get a new ID card because she had to go back to where she was registered in the blue book.

That's why Bangkok (usually) empties out when there's an election.

Thanks. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next few days/weeks/months in Thailand. I have a feeling the EC or the Anti-Corruption agency will either say something about the election or disband one or more political parties for 5 years.

I'm going in April for 3 weeks. At least the hotels are dirt cheap. Can get a 5 star fro about $100 a night.

Yeah, my Sister-in-law(my brother's wife) is going there for a few weeks this month for work. It had been planned months in advance though. It will be her second trip there.

You will have to let me know how your trip is.
