Why do people think muslim/pork jokes are funny?

Not sure, I've often wondered the same thing myself....

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

Because they don't realise that the majority of Muslims aren't offended by pork. They just don't eat it. Orthodox Jews don't eat it either but no one ever jokes about them. Weird.

The only time I've heard about pork jokes being used where about Jewish people. I guess it could be the area where people live.

Consider the people who think the jokes are funny....grown men who can't engage in dialogue resort to insults, attacks, and lame jokes that aren't funny.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

I am back here to explain the issue of yellow panties - a New Year tradition that a peruvin friend introduced me to some years ago. I have to call here to get the exact significance of this but all I remember that it should bring you good luck in the New Year.

I have never followed but this year I remembered it as I realised that I have them in my drawer. Once I get some more details I will share with the rest of you!

Great Day to all!

That's interesting that it is Purvian. A couple of years ago I was at a New Years Party in a Columbian home. At midnight, we took suitcases and walked around the block for luck. Much more fun than eating Black-Eye peas which is the custom I grew up with.

I'm picturing my friends and I wearing yellow underwear, walking around the block carrying suitcases.

Hey with an interview just around the corner, I'll willing to do whatever is necessary for any extra luck I can get. Any other world wide customs I can perform for New Years? :P

I guess it must be a South American thing as my friend was telling me about the suitcases as well...I called her to get to the bottom of the yellow panties...(I make myself lol) but have not heard from her yet...and I am also curious of any other traditions/superstitions that are out there regarding New Year...

We need all the good luck for Mybackpages and Lilofdevine - their fiances' interviews are just around the corner !!!
