Hello!

We received our fiance visa and my honey will be here in less than 2 weeks! Yes! Thank God, thank you visa journey and journeyers for all your help!

Here is my current situation and question...Pradeep and I met in India through a Christian missionary organization. We would still love to travel and spend time in India and the rest of the world and come back to the U.S. to be with my family, however...I am not sure how much of that will be allowed if he is a green card holder.

I am a citizen and obviously have no problem leaving and returning to the country, but that is not the case for him. We are planning on applying for an AOS after our marriage, however I am curious if there are other options that would allow him to travel, live other places, yet come back to the U.S. without complications or problems. Not sure if this is possible...

Any help or advice is very appreciated ! Thank you! :)

***** Moving from What Visa to Traveling During US Immigration forum ****

As a greencard holder, he is supposed to spend the majority of his time inside the USA. So what you guys could do is settle in the US for three years, then whenhe has his US citizenship, you can travel freely.

Another option some people take is, once AOS is approved and he gets his greencard, move abroad and officially hand back the greencard at the local US embassy, then apply for a tourist visa. This is usually approved.in such cases, and would allow him to visit the US with you for family gatherings etc, but he could not live or work in the USA.
