Oh, and there it was. The blue slip on the mail requesting more evidence. To be fair, we slighty expected it as our submitted evidence was slighty thin (lazyness)

Nothing to blame on than ourselves there, so now we are both working on submitting new evidence. I was hoping to get some input on our RFE note. "The CPR provided som evidence of a marital bona fides. However, the documentation submitted is insufficient because the evidence does not cover the period of time from the date of the marriage to the present date." Completely fair, as I looked through my papers most of the evidence was from 2013. Time to dig in the boxes!

After this they gave us some examples of what to include (but are not limiterd to), one of them made me slightly confused.

"Copies of rental leases/agreements or mortgage agreements, deeds showing joint tenancy at a common residence signed by the conditional resident, the U.S. citizen spouse and the owner of the property (or the property manager). Rent receipts and affidavits are insufficient to support join tenancy. The submitted lease agreement show a residential adress that you have not listen on the i-751 petition".

What makes me confused is the very last sentence. (I submitted our current lease, the adress from where we are filing and the adress to where I received my RFE.) Is this just some kind of sample? Or are they saying that the lease contract that I sent is not in the i-751 form when thats the adress that I listed and the adress they are corresponding to?

FYI, one of the additional things I will submit is our earlier lease, however.. I was hoping to get some clarification on that RFE.

Thanks!

Apart from submitting all the joint leases, you are also required to mention in an additional sheet for question 22 of part 1 of I-751 (see page 2) all the places you lived with details, if you have lived in other addresses since becoming a permanent resident. Hence send a sheet showing those details that need to be in sync with the copies of the joint leases sent attached as evidence.

Thanks for your reply!

I specifically remember sending that sheet in with all of our addresses (and I have a copy on my computer). Do you think it might be a good idea to resubmit it together with our 2 leases? (the sheet is in sync with the leases).

Hello!

I would go ahead and resubmit anyways. Sometimes they may miss a page or two when trying to navigate through the thick layer of papers (e.g. one page got stickier etc).

I would note on the RFE cover letter what you are submitting exactly and mention that the list of addresses was submitted in the initial application but will be attached again for reference etc.

Good luck!

ROC Journey:

4/24/13 - Submitted I-751 application

4/26/13 - I-751 officially filed

6/11/13 - Biometrics done

8/14/13 - Rec'd RFE

9/21/13 - Submitted RFE response

9/23/13 - RFE response rec'd at VSC

(about 2 months later)

11/21/13 - Service request via Tier 1 submitted

12/11/13 - Response to service request rec'd - vague info about processing times

12/12/13 - Service request via Tier 2 submitted

12/10/13 - APPROVED!!! (letter rec'd 12/14/13)

12/16/13 - 2nd Service request response rec'd

12/17/13 - Card production email/text rec'd (online case updated)!

12/24/13 - Notification rec'd via email regarding card mailed on 12/23/13 (online case updated as well)

12/26/13 - 10-yr card rec'd!

One thing I have learned on this journey:

There is no such thing as an "overkill" evidence package. Submit anything and everything you can. Who knows what will prevent you from getting an RFE.
