Being the kind of person I am, I like a nice cover letter to outline what is included in the envelope I'm sending. I did one for myself a couple years ago and now my daughter is about to send hers in (she's 22).

Feel free to copy this and change for your needs.

Areb you sending a copy of taxes returned for the last 5 years?

We are not since she is applying under the 5 yr rule and not under the 3 yr marriage rule. Until last year she was claimed by us and just filed her first tax return on her own last year. We plan to have them for the interview in case there is an outside chance they ask for them.

(The VJ Guide only suggests the IRS transcripts when applying under the 3 yr marriage rule)
