When you became a permanent resident and you are between the age 18 and 26 and you are a male you have to register for selective service. If you didn't register yet and you are not 26 yet please make sure you register as it is mandatory: http://www.sss.gov/default.htm

Now if you did register and you have all your info check yes on the N400 and fill up the required spaces. If you did not register because you were older then 26 when you became a permanent resident check no and make sure you write a letter explaining to them that you were older that's why it wasn't required for you to register. But i am not a male..and i'm 24 years old.do i still need to be register?

You should answer No to the question
