CR1 Intverview, 221g co-asking to submit more doc through DHL

I am needing some help here, i was asked after my interview to submit some more document, i was given a 221 g letter to submit police cert, medical report and affidavit of support, which i already did since 31th Dec 2013. can anyone tell me how long it will take for them to respond back, its in the Lagos Consular, as i left South Africa for the interview and my return ticket is this sat

I doubt it will be that fast. lagos doesn't work like that.

So you didn't have any of this submitted to NVC so you sent in on Dec. 31st correct.

They have to verify all your information thats alot. The police certificate and Affidavit of Support is stuff that should have been in so now they have to do their work. You may be in AP a few weeks to months. I seriously doubt you will be done by saturday,

Did they give you back your passport?

They have my passport, my case was revoked and we have to contact the congressman, who helped us through, all the documents was corrected, i guess they expired after sometime, we did submit, our case has been since 2012, it was my second interview. I had to do another medical, Police Cert and got the 2012 tax script from my wife and submited on the 31th, and i was asked to check back after 5 days, so i am scared by tomorrow it wont be there

Okay this was a reaffirm you had secoond interview and you didn't have these things with you at interview darn. Wish you had known me before you went. Well I doubt they will be done by friday. But why not email them the urgency and that you need your passport.

Because even when the embasssy is done with AP its still another week before Visa is ready to pick up. I would get my passport. Don't know what you will do however when it comes time to place Visa.

I am sure right now they are verifying tax info and long as nothing is on police report that will be fast and a clean medical.

Okay this was a reaffirm you had secoond interview and you didn't have these things with you at interview darn. Wish you had known me before you went. Well I doubt they will be done by friday. But why not email them the urgency and that you need your passport.

Because even when the embasssy is done with AP its still another week before Visa is ready to pick up. I would get my passport. Don't know what you will do however when it comes time to place Visa.

You need to send a email now so they see it tomorrow. It should have already been sent. Be sure in the Subject line you hve your Case# and Full name

And ask what is up that you are leaving saturday for South Africa and you need your passport will it be ready for pickup with Visa or pick it up without and send back later.

Send it now so its in the queue for them in morning.

What did they say at interview? You were approved pending the documents? or they would let you know? Rarely does a reaffirm get denied. But since you didn't come to interview prepared with the documents you are delayed now and thats indefinite no one can say for sure.

I understand the worry you have gone through alot for a long time. Just ease your mind, write the email. It is well. Lagos is pretty good in answering fast, hopefully you will get an answer by wednesday. I hope you are writing email now.

What did they say at interview? You were approved pending the documents? or they would let you know? Rarely does a reaffirm get denied. But since you didn't come to interview prepared with the documents you are delayed now and thats indefinite no one can say for sure.

I understand the worry you have gone through alot for a long time. Just ease your mind, write the email. It is well. Lagos is pretty good in answering fast, hopefully you will get an answer by wednesday. I hope you are writing email now.

My wife who lives in Texas was up this morning, called the embassy in Lagos this morning,of course asking what was the delay about my visa, co responded that there is AP, and she doesn't know how long that will take, it could take weeks or months, my advice is can i still pick up my passport and leave for South Africa, where i have lived for 1 year now.

Of course i sent the contact sheet and i was told they didn't received it, even when there was a confirmation email that it was received. I had to re send the scan contact sheet. Please Advice, should my wife call them everyday? will this help, she is in tears and i am not in a good spirit, had so much to do in South Africa

You need to call not your wife. You are there. Just go to the embassy and pick it up.
