So my fiance and I have been married before. He is a Canadian citizen and was here with his parents on a NATO2 status when we were in high school.

We got married when we were 18. Long story short: it didn't work out cause we were too young and immature to cope with being married and he went home 6 years ago.

Now that we have grown up a bit we are trying again. My concern is that with all the old ins/uscis history our case might be complicated.

Brief history:

June 2000- nato2 status was given.

Dec 2003- we got married

Jan or Feb 2003- i485 and affidavit filed. We never heard anything about our case until I withdrew my petition when we got divorced in august 2007.

When I withdrew my petition uscis acknowledged there was a case but gave no indication of its status except that I was withdrawing.

What do you all think? Am I in for a long complicated road. I-129f filed in Nov NOA1 on 11-18.

I started a timeline for the new application on VJ. :)

You should've received a notice of withdrawal. You need to get in touch with them. But it being 6 years already, I think you're in the clear.

You've already started the process on your own so adding an attorney at this stage would be counter productive. I would say hold your breath and see what happens with the 129. If you hit a bump in the road, I would find an attorney.

A guy in town here found an immigration attorney who charges by the call. This guy speaks very highly of the service. He is handling everything on his own, but when he has a question he calls and pays for an hour of time. Possibility for you maybe.
