First, this is my first post here and I really want the opportunity to say thanks to VisaJourney.com and every contributors here. the resource here really help us a lot in the whole K-1 Visa process. Thank you!!!!good.gif . And it finally comes to very last part of the process. My fiance has been scheduled the consulate interview the 15th of next month smile.png . So here is my question, I know she should be receiving visa couple days after the interview and we have to get married within 90 days of POE.

But is there any requirement on when she needs to be at POE?

someone said the visa would be valid for 6 months, is that true for everyone?

and that 6 months we are talking is from visa approval date to POE? or to marry?

Thank you !

The K-1 visa is typically valid for 6 months from the date of the medical exam. When you receive the visa, it will have an expiration date...this is the date you need to enter the US by. Once inside the US, the visa is no longer valid and is no longer used. The I-94 becomes your new document, which expires 90 days after your POE. You need to marry before the expiration date in your I-94.
