so, not one out of three white people were lynched, but of the recorded lynchings (by who i don't know, there's no source) 1297 were white people.

Weird stats.. Those are from the Tuskegee Institute which are generally considered the most accurate with a fairly strict interpretation.. The label is white/black but surely there were Chinese and other Asians lynched along with a good deal of Hispanics.. Maybe the label would have been better as black/non-black.

i'm sorry you feel shirked, danno. i was trying to extract some sort of source and fortunately others stepped up and took the initiative to clarify your premise. my answer to your question, why white people were lynched..well, i would assume it had to do with mob mentality and community executed "justice".. white people that were rumored supportive of blacks surely played a part, but with any sort of mob based authority, i'm sure plenty of people were lynched based on rumor of crimes commited.

did i say anything about guilt? no i don't think i did.

in my mind, mob rule is not an effective means to go about capital punishment. if you'd like my opinion just ask for it, please don't attempt to infer, you're really bad at it.

I reject the notion that this skit is art in the first place. It is a political / social exhibition.

There is a lot to like about the USA, the recent corruption of what art is would not be one.

I think his point would be that "lynching" has not been a side effect of racism in quite some time. This art is as dumb as Sarah Palin saying debt is like slavery. Its using something horrible and deadly to make a point about societal inequality.
