1040 form for Embassy Interview

Just something to consider, in the U.S., we are now filing our income tax returns electronically.

What does this mean, it means we are not using 1040 forms when one files their tax return via eFile.

I included a copy of the 1040 (printed) but not submitted to IRS for filing, and eFile copies of documents to Bebe for her embassy interview.

Here are the documents I included for the ITR requirement.

1040 / Copy, but not submitted to IRS

Form 9325, Acknowledgement and General Information for Taxpayers who file returns electonically

Form 8879, IRS e-file Signature Authorization

W2, employee copy

Please share what you have done in this case.

Please keep in mind that some dates are only known after receipt of another document.
For example, the USPS Form 3811. The stamped receiving date was not know until the original Form 3811 was received on 07/13/2013 1:30 p/m CST.

If there is sufficient time, you may be better off with an IRS Transcript.

Even if you eFile, you still use the 1040 Forms. They are just submitted electronically. The program or accountant you use to eFile should allow you to save and print a complete copy of your return. You would need to submit all schedules and forms along with your W-2s, 1099's, etc.
