Hi All,

My wife is a US Citizen through her parents. She came to US when she was 6 months old. long story short, turns out no one filed for her certificate of citizenship. In N-400, Part 8, question D asks for Date of US Citizenship and Place. We went to a local USCIS office and they told us that she has to file for N-600 to get certificate of citizenship. My question is should i wait till her certificate of citizenship comes or should i file my n-400 and her n--600 in parallel?

thanks you for your help.

B

Does she have a US passport? if she does then you do not need to file for N600.

Yes, She has a US Passport.

However, it doesn't tell me the date & place or her citizenship.

Ask her parents the day that one of her parents became a US citizen she became one as a minor. Good luck.

Exactly as even for N600 you will need this date. So all you need is the date her parents became citizen and put that date and send the copy of her us passport which is proof enough that she is a US citizen.
