Hi there. Usually how long before you guys got your spouse's green card after got approved and lifted up the condition in the interview? I was approved last month Nov 4, 2013 and lifted up my conditional residency. The consul in USCIS Jackson Florida told us ( me and my husband) that they will forward my approved case back to Vermont for them to produce a 10 years GC for me. I been waiting for it for a while and wondering when will i get it coz some of my friend they got theirs 1 to 2 weeks only.

I called the Vermont and the agent told me when it is outside the processing time they can't find out the status since i filed it April 2012.

I was a little aggreviated with that customer service when i told him i got approved and was lifted up my conditional residency and trying to find out the status and he was like " it sounds like your not approved". I just can't tell him, hek you are just an operator who reads whats on the computer and so on and can't even tell me what is the status of my GC and now telling me that, but i controlled my self. USCIS website does not work for my status case eversince, it got stocked with my changed address and that's it. How long before i can get my gc and who to call on USCIS , i mean reliable and can answer questions? Thanks!

First, did you get an approval letter? If not and since you were only approved last month maybe you should wait a bit longer.

Second, did you only spoke to a Tier 1 operator? Did you ever get transferred to a Tier 2? If you never spoke to a Tier 2 try calling again and ask to speak with a Tier 2. Tier 2s are officers and they usually can tell you a bit more than Tier 1. Good luck!

ROC Journey:

4/24/13 - Submitted I-751 application

4/26/13 - I-751 officially filed

6/11/13 - Biometrics done

8/14/13 - Rec'd RFE

9/21/13 - Submitted RFE response

9/23/13 - RFE response rec'd at VSC

(about 2 months later)

11/21/13 - Service request via Tier 1 submitted

12/11/13 - Response to service request rec'd - vague info about processing times

12/12/13 - Service request via Tier 2 submitted

12/10/13 - APPROVED!!! (letter rec'd 12/14/13)

12/16/13 - 2nd Service request response rec'd

12/17/13 - Card production email/text rec'd (online case updated)!

12/24/13 - Notification rec'd via email regarding card mailed on 12/23/13 (online case updated as well)

12/26/13 - 10-yr card rec'd!

One thing I have learned on this journey:

There is no such thing as an "overkill" evidence package. Submit anything and everything you can. Who knows what will prevent you from getting an RFE.

The consul stamped my docs approved but he did not give anything to me and have not received anything yet in the mail box. He just told me and my husband that he will forward my case back to vermont to produce my gc and confirm our address to where it will be sent over and said give Vermont atleast a month. Thank you for that information, I will try calling back again next week and ask for tier 2. Should i supposed to get a letter in the mail box about the approval of my petition, because the consul did not inform me that i will get a letter. I thought you get a letter once your petition got approved without being called for an interview?

I think some people did get a letter or notice of approval after an interview. But it could be those that were told they will hear back on a decision and I could be wrong.

Looks like you were told to wait a month which is about 30 days and it's a reasonable wait. However, most card production letters say to wait 60 days after approval. Since you don't have a letter and only verbal instructions, just call to follow up on your case - ask to confirm your contact info and see where things are. Good luck!

Thank you. Yea I will try calling back again. I was transferred tier 2 last time I called I waited almost an hour until it reaches 6 pm and that is their closing time. I work everyday my husband called them once but he was told they can't give info to him anymore since I was lifted up my conditional residence I and I am responsible for myself now that was they told him. Maybe this has something to do with holiday season. I am praying it won't take too long coz my stamp on my passport is until May 2014 or else's have to travel again too far away..

Same story here, we also had our interview in NYC on December 2nd. Interview was okay overall, officer did not say anything but I can tell it went pretty well. However, we did not receive any letter from the USCIS saying okay your case is approved or not. Their website also does not show any status update. Waiting is killing us..

That's good information! My guess is I would think the processing of your card will be 60 days from the day they received your approved documents which was yesterday (this is just based on the standard letter everyone's getting). Maybe wait a couple more weeks and see if you hear anything.

Good luck! The final stretch! :)

Yea the online case update doesn't seem to work for everyone.

Good luck!

So, can someone kindly summarize how everything works after the interview ? Is it like this order :

Case is approved or disapproved from the local field office

Notification mail is sent by the local office to the applicant

Application documents are returned to the service center

If the case is approved, green card is produced and mail to the applicant

This is what I imagined after reading above posts, please correct if anything is wrong.
