If my fiancee is going to get her shots here in the US, does she still have to go to Day 2 of the medical? I posted in the Manila thread, but no responses....

if your fiance gets the TB (tuberculoses) skin test, then she needs to go back after 48 hours to have them look at it to see if there was a reaction. this will only take 5 seconds for them to look at it and you will not be charged.

it is important to go back to them in the required time they tell you (24 or 48 hrs) and have them inspect where they did the skin test and if you do not go back, they will not issue you the medical exam record you need.

So the bottom line is she has to go back?

We were trying to save a little money, but I guess she's going to have to stay at least 3 days in Manila - 1 for Medical Day 1, 1 for 24-48 hour wait, and 1 for the follow up.

yes, that is correct. you can check and see with the cival surgeon to see if he/she would allow you finace to have her ski test checked by another physician somewhere else and that that physician would report back to the civial surgeon. i am not sure if they would agree to that or not.

one another thing you can do is that you can have the TB skin test done by a doctor who does not have to be a cival surgeon and then you would take the result with you when you see the cival surgeon. All that the civil surgeon checks for is that you have had the TB skin test less than a year ago and if you did thn you should be fine as long as you report the result to him
