I and husband been married over 2 yrs, he is an american.

Now my husband not work so the income is low and not enough to support me for the visa

But my mother in law she over 60, no work but has money in bank (100thous usd). Can she help us as join sponsor/co-sponsor? She is not living with my husband in same house.

Or what if she give my husband money which about 5times the minimum income which gov need (example my husband has 50thous usd) If so he will be my only sponsor. And how long he should have money in the bank account before we start to apply the visa for me? Any idea? Thanks and regards.

your mother-in-law can be the co-sponsor she has to say she retired and provide her taxes and a bank statement and do a I-864 affidavit of support and your husband do a affadavit of support I-864 also. He dont have to show bank account if he is not using assets he would only need to show his last 3 years of income tax 2010-2011-2012 tax transcript. If he dont have a job he can write a letter to explain the situation.
