Is there any other way to contact the consulate besides email?

My fiancées case is now requesting her to return to the US consulate for fingerprinting to which she had already done during the interview via electronically. We are at a lost if we must return to the consulate to do the fingerprinting.

I'm frustrated

Has anyone had this problem before? The email gives us a date and time to be at the consulate to have fingerprinting done. It doesn't request any additional documents but to get fingerprinted.

I've emailed the consulate stating that all documents and finger prints were taken during the interview and requested them to look into it more to save us the trip of having to spend more money to fly there and back.

So far I'm still waiting for that reply from them. Isn't there a phone number I can call the consulate at to get this sorted out? Or is email indeed the only way?

When my wife was staying in a hotel near the Consulate, she spoke with a woman who was about to have her fourth interview, this time to have her fingerprints taken - again. This woman had "passed" her previous interview, and it wasn't until four days later - after she'd returned home - that she was contacted and told that she'd need to make another trip to the Consulate to get her fingerprints taken again.

My wife never found from this woman why the first set of fingerprints wasn't good - we're guessing that one or more of the prints was smudged. So my wife and I began to worry about things like this that seem to be beyond our control. I mean, you can be completely careful about preparing your evidence and filling out all of the documents, but it's very unsettling to consider the possibility that errors made by the Consulate staff may cause continued delays and added expense. I told my wife that once she passed her interview, she should ask the interviewer to double-check her fingerprints and make sure that every one was completely clear. And I asked her to confirm with the interviewer that all required documents were there.

The fact that I've now heard of two "repeat fingerprint" cases tells me that there are probably a lot more. Shame on the Consulate. Shame! Shame!

=[ it really does get costly to have to travel back and fourth. I was thinking the same thing that perhaps the prints weren't good enough that's why they requested a return to get reprinted. This is just going to make us wait longer. I wanted her here for thanksgiving but looks like that's not going to happen.

Well at least she will get here before Christmas! At least that's what I'm hoping for. I've already booked flight tickets to go back to Guangzhou just for the prints.

Remember CGI developed the Visa web site, you might have heard of their other HUGE web site that they did a wonderful job of implementing recently.

I assume the consulate has to send in the fingerprints and some are getting flagged for smudges and the like. I know at my wife's biometrics appointment in the states the worker took several of hers a few times because they might not have been good enough. The Chinese worker prolly does not give a ####### and just takes them and says next without looking very closely.

I personally think the CGI website is buggy. Your suppose to be able to change your document delivery address but thats impossible with the website.

I'm praying that on the 26 all she needs to do is go there, get fingerprinted and finally get this visa process going_
