Dear........

In order to proceed with Mr........application, this office must confirm his eligibility

for that visa.

We will contact him if we need additional information or if we need to conduct an

additional interview.

Until we have completed this verification process we can't move forward with the visa

application.

As each case is unique, we can't predict how long the veification process will take.

Fraud Prevention Unit

The FRAUD PREVENTION UNIT ?????? Anyone ever seen this ? I am glad they responded

to my email but they will not tell me specifically why they suspect fraud or if this is routine

for the country or other war torn countries.

So the case is in the fraud prevention unit, investigated if he is "eligible" for "that" visa.

Which I interpret as specific K 1 eligibility. Unless it is a generic message response and they are verifying documents.

I wouldn't worry about this. It's soounds like standard processing. Your fiance would not be eligible if he was still married, or if he can not clear security checks etc. I would take it that they are verifying everything to be sure everything is in order. Don;t stress that it came from the fraud unit. I am sure it does not mean they suspect fraud, but that it is this division that handles the checks and verifications.

Remember you posted everything was very pleasant during his interview. I'm sure everything will resolve itself soon.

You know they are probably doing security checks at the State department back in Washington too. You can contact them and check on the progress of the case. Not everyone on that phoneline will be helpful but you have a good chance of talking to someone who will help than getting a grumpy one.
