Personally, i waited for it to be sent FROM the NVC to London before booking it. Then had my medical on the 18th of october, earliest one, and coincidentally my case arrived in London the same day. Dont want it getting stuck at the NVC for 7 weeks like mine unfortunately did and then the medical get there and it have no case to go with.

Once you've confirmed with DoS/NVC that its been sent to London i see no reason not to book it.

The intention of the embassy is to have your file set up before they start receiving things from you. The medical is not Step One on there instructions. It is in support of a visa application you have not filed yet. If you want to change their order, it's your application and your choice. Some do and some don't. If you want to pick a medical date several weeks out to allow time for your file and your visa application to be received, then that is a better plan.

Do you have your police certificate and immunizations documented already? Flu jab too? Report from your GP if you have or ever had any medical issues or depression?

Thanks! That's a good idea, wait till it's at least on its way to London.

ok, thanks for your help! I think I will wait a bit then. I will need to pick a date several weeks away anyway as I live about as far away from London as is possible in the UK. So going there requires some planning.

Yep, I have all those things ready. Got my flu jab last week.
