Hi everyone!

This is my first ever post here and I hope I will get good answer too. I am Pakistan Citizen, studying in Canada. My Fiancee has applied for K1 and what will happen to this petition after approval from USCIS. Because I cant go back to Pakistan to take interview and stuff as it will disrupt my studies in Canada. I will be staying in Canada for atleast 2 more years. So can I do the whole process while staying in Canada or I will have to go back to do this silly process.

Thank You all of you and Good Lucks Big time....

Regards,

TheHaider

What Consulate did your fiance request? Did your USC fiance request your interview at a Consulate in Canada? If you are a LPR in another nation then the Consulate of your legal residence can perform the processing.

I quickly browsed their websites and I can not find that information. The sites have been totally revamped since the last time I visited them (back in 2005). Try calling them.

The Consulate in Vancouver processes fiancé(e) cases for citizens of Canada, or aliens who are permanent residents. Individuals in Canada on student and/or employment authorization will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Such individuals must be authorized to remain in Canada for a continuous minimum period of six months (from the time the approved petition is received at the Consulate). Applicants must also be residing in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Yukon or the Northwest Territories. All other applicants in Canada are processed at the U.S. Consulate in Montreal.

LPR = Legal Permanent Resident... Actually they will on a case by case basis process for aliens who are temporary legal residents as well ... It might be at the Consulates discretion however.....
