Hi,

I was wandering is it is possible to be denied because of insufficient tax return?

My fiance graduated in July 2012 so she only had part time jobs unlike now. Since October 2012 she found a stable job and has a yearly salary of 32.000 $.

Her 2012 tax returns show from 900$ to 1000$. Is that enough? How much should it show??

Can our visa be denied during the interview because of insufficient past tax returns even though she is getting paid well and this year's tax returns will show more numbers?

They only care what she makes currently, but they do look at the totality of things, and the likelihood of you being a public charge. If she currently holds a steady job well above the requirement, no problem.

Current pay is much more important than past tax returns so it shouldn't be an issue. It's best if she can get a letter from her employer to help prove her current income. A few check stubs wouldn't hurt any either...just make sure you black out any confidential info on the check stub. We were actually approved without any pay stubs since I had not actually started working my new job yet when we sent the paperwork in.
