Hello All,

It's been a while since I have been here! Now I'm scrambling around trying to pull everything together for ROC - our 90 day window opens in 4 days!!

Quick question, my husband has had his job write a letter stating that I am his beneficicary on the Group Term life insurance at his work. His HR department didn't put on the letter when he added me to his life insurance as a beneficiary (October 2011). Do you think I should ask my husband to have them write the letter again stating when I was added or isn't that needed?

The reason I ask, is because me and my husband have recently bought a house together (May 2013) but before that we were living in his aunt's apartment with no lease. The USCIS like to have proof of documentation spanning the entire marriage - could adding the date to the life insurance aid me in some way of showing this, or is it not worth bothering?

Thanks so much!!

1. Get a letter from his aunt that she gave it you guys for living with from and to dates. This is very important evidence.

2. Get a letter from your husband's employers - generally we are able to go online and print it ourselves - check if he has that option.

Thank you very much for your response Navyk!!

I'm currently in the process of asking his aunt to write a letter. We've stated the start dates, how much she charged us in rent as well the reason why she wanted the utilities kept in her name. I also asked her to get it notarized. Hopefully that will be fine!

My husband's employers have been great and have already written a letter listing me as a beneficiary, they didn't however state when I was added to his life insurance. Shall I have them re-write the letter and add the start date of when I became a benenficiary?

Thank you in advance for your help! :)

**I don't think he has that option, he has to go through his HR....

Ev11,

1. No need to get it notarized but it doesn't hurt. Notary just confirms that signatory is signature but not the contents. see that your covering letter also mentions these details briefly.

2. Yes, get a re-vised letter from his employer adding the start date of the insurance.

I trust that you have the other evidence/s in place. All the best.

I really appreciate your response and advice. I will go ahead and get the letter re-written. If his aunt can't get it notarized, I won't get too bothered by it now.

Just pulling my evidence together; tax transcripts, joint bank accounts etc. Very excited to get it all started :)

Thanks again and good luck with your case, here's to speedy approvals!
