Hi, I received my green card last june after a wait of 15 years.

When I got it I saw it had an error in my birth date.

I sent it back along an I-90 form in mid-june.

I went to get my SS and they said it couldn't be issued due to the green card error, as the amendment didn't appear in the system yet.

It has been more that 4 months now, and last week I just received my Social Security card, but in the USCIS status, my green card still appears in the Initial Review status.

Can I begin to work without the GC and just the SS?

Thank you all for your input.
