Hi! I've been gathing documents and am almost ready to mail the initial documents to get the visa process rolling! I am hoping to have everything in order by tonight.

I received my fiancee's passport photos. They meet all of the requirments in the i-129 instructions, however, there is potentially one issue. US passport photos are 2" by 2", however, what she sent me is something more like about 1.5" x 1.75." From the top of her head to the bottom of her just is barely over 1".

They i-129 instructions don't actually state that the picture must be 2" x 2", but it is a USA passport standard. Will this be okay? Am I at risk for a RFE?

Let everything about you breathe the calm and peace of the soul.

Thank you for the replies.

I just wanted to point out the fact that the instructions on the i-129. do not actually state that the photo needs to be 2"x2". Also, The following website

Also, the VisaJourney step by step guide links the following website for the photo specifications. There isn't a size requirement of the photo there either. Only that the head needs to be a certain size.

Has anyone tried to use the Philippines Passport-sized photo for the i-129 photo? I really don't want to wait another week or more to send off this documentation, but I don't want to send it off just to get a RFE.

No, I did not use the Philippine size passport photo because when I went to studios, they would always ask for which country/purpose and I end up with the same 2x2 size as my fiance's passport photo.

Why not have her photo taken at a nice studio that gives a CD copy of your photo (like Great Image), she sends it to you via email, and you have it printed instead? That way you dont have to wait a week. Sounds like she's gonna need US sized 2x2 photos anyway for medical etc.

Nope doesn't come right out and state 2X2 passport photo, but the instructions for the I-129F states passport style photos, and further defines that there be one inch between the chin to top of head which are the same requirements for "official" passport photos. Being this the US of A and official passport size is 2X2... and the goal here is to NOT fight city hall, but to get though this process as smoothly as possible.

And this link is very exact as to passport style photo : http://travel.state.gov/passport/pptphotoreq/pptphotoreq_5333.html

My fiancé did hers at an Internet cafe for everything she would do in Phil's.. She got (6) 2x2 photos for 100php.

However, when I submitted i129f, she emailed me pics she took with her phone. They weren't proper size (close to what you have now). In our case, probably by good fortune, they were accepted. We did do the "simple look, basic clothes, no jewelry, no smile" bust shot. I sized it in MS PAINT and printed on glossy premium photo paper.
