You will need to submit all the originals to the NVC.... USCIS only requires copies... even of the photos. Send a copy, keep a copy of everything you sent ( incase of an RFE) and keep the originals handy because you will need them later. And bring copies of everything you ever sent to you interview also. You can never be too prepared.

The petition and G-325a requires original signed copies at the NVC

It is even better and cheaper if he gets himself pictured (electronic picture) in white background from where he lives and send it to you by email. You'll just have to print it in American format (600 x 600). This is what I did while filing our I-130.

This process is already full of stresses, better save your 100$ that can serve you later instead burning that with DHL!
