I-130 received in September, check cashed, still no response

I am beginning to get a little worried/frustrated. I am a U.S. citizen currently living in Mexico and my partner and I sent our I-130 application to the Chicago Lockbox on September 23 through UPS. It was received on September 25 at the Chicago facility and the I-130 check was finally cashed on October 4. We definitely included the G-1145 form to be notified by email when the application is approved at the Chicago Lockbox and have STILL not been notified by email, nor by regular postal mail. It is now October 10 and I am not sure what to do from here. Any suggestions or advice that can be given are greatly appreciated.

First of all, take a deep breath and relax. This is not the time to become worried and frustrated because you are in for a very LONG journey.

The NOA1 hard copy can take up to a few weeks to receive even after the check has been cashed. Just wait and be patient.

I understand that the hard copy can and will take longer but I am wondering why I never even received an email notification like I signed up for, especially if they already cashed my check.

Another concern I had is about them sending the hard copy by mail. If I live in Mexico, will they even send it here? I kind of dread that because the mail system here isn't that great.

The e-mail notification can take just as long. Like I said, just be patient and wait. They cashed your check which is the important part - it means that your NOA1 is on it's way.

The hard copy will be delivered to whatever address you entered for yourself in the I-130 form.

Thank you. I will try and be patient. I guess I am just concerned that the hard copy will get lost in the Mexican postal mail.
