hey there this is my first post here, so my apologies if i have put this in the wrong place, i'm a little nervous haha!

so my fiance and i have our paperwork for the first packet almost ready, but the only thing really bugging me is the whole financial requirements/addafit of support? (i know that doesn't come til later, but i'm a worrier and i worry about things in advance!)

we're going to have a co-sponsor, as he almost meets the requirement but not quite. the co sponsor would be his parents, but i have a few questions about this:

-does the london consulate accept co sponsors? i've read on some websites that some consulates do not...so this left me pretty worried..

-is it possible we could begin filling out the forms for the addafit of support now, in preparation for when we have to send them? i know we don't need them for a while as yet, but i would feel better knowing we already have them, or is this not allowed?

IF THIS IS ALLOWED, then i also have the following questions...

-my fiance has to fill out a form, and his parents fill out a separate one for me, right? just double checking!

-my fiance works from home, however he's not self employed. he works for a company based in texas but it is home based. he doesn't actually get paystub..things delivered to him, but the money is deposited into his account, and i'm sure he has proof of all this. will this cause any problems?

sorry for all the questions! and sorry if i've done this in the wrong place. i don't really use forums and i'm nervous posting here :P

Hi--

For questions about how to prepare a petition, this K1 forum where you posted is good. For questions about London, the interview, medical and affidavit of support, I would like to point out the UK forum. It's very active and helpful. Each consulate will be different.

UK forum http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

Your questions:

-does the london consulate accept co sponsors? i've read on some websites that some consulates do not...so this left me pretty worried..

Yes, they do. They also let beneficiaries sponsor themselves.

-is it possible we could begin filling out the forms for the addafit of support now, in preparation for when we have to send them? i know we don't need them for a while as yet, but i would feel better knowing we already have them, or is this not allowed?

You can fill it out if that makes you happy, but since it won't be turned in until your interview day, it could be out of date 8 months or so from now. I would sign and date it around the time the petition gets approved, then mail to the UK. There will still be almost three more months until your interview after petition approval if the current times continue.

-my fiance has to fill out a form, and his parents fill out a separate one for me, right? just double checking!

For LONDON, they only need one I-134...his or his parents. One sponsor will do. This is different than what you will read in the K1 forum general info. It is specific to London. They have also accepted 100% of the poverty level for a fiancé, so you may want to present one from your fiancé and see if that is accepted. Then if not, have one from the parents to pull out as an alternate.

-my fiance works from home, however he's not self employed. he works for a company based in texas but it is home based. he doesn't actually get paystub..things delivered to him, but the money is deposited into his account, and i'm sure he has proof of all this. will this cause any problems?

London often approves on one proof of income. I would suggest taking two. Pick from

--tax return (by the time you interview he or parents will have 2013 returns done)

--letter from employer (London really likes those)

--pay stubs

--bank statements showing the direct deposit.

Thank you so much! I feel a lot better now haha!

I think I will take one from my fiance and one from his parents as you suggested :) and ah so I hand these in at interview day? I was thinking I had to mail them before hand, my bad!

And thank you for that little bit of info about the one I-134 for London specifically! :)

Another question if that's okay: after the interview, how soon after is the visa issued? Do I need to collect it from the consulate itself? I ask because I live about 70 miles from London and I don't drive, so I have to go by National Express. So to make the travel a little cheaper I'm considering staying in London if it will only be like, say, a weeks wait?

You will make two separate trips to London. Once for the medical, then again for the interview. They will be weeks apart. The visa is returned by courier to your home for $30. If all goes well that will be within 10 days.

Oh okay that's cool, thanks!

We should be sending it off tomorrow, I think, does this sound like an okay list of things?

-Fees of $340

-Cover sheet

-E notification form (or should this go first?)

-I-192f and supplement for 34.a

-Biographical info form for petitioner and photo

Same as above only for beneficiary (me haha)

-Letters of intent to marry from us both

-Letters from his parents and my parents (someone told me to include this, they basically both wrote that they confirm that I stayed there/he stayed with me, and his parents wrote they'd co sponsor me if needed, on their letter, and to contact them if any questions)

-proof of meeting (photos, receipts from USA,uk, boarding passes and itinerary, receipts from dinner, theme parks etc)

Have I forgotten anything? Is there anything specific to London consulate that I need to put in there?

Also! Will my fiancé get sent this back, and I think you might have mentioned but do I need to take this to London when it's interview time? Or don't they need to see the I-192f packet?

Thankyou! Sorry I'm not sure if I should have made a new thread or just reply to you here haha :P

The London consulate is not part of this picture. The US fiancé is submitting this petition to the USCIS, basically to seek permission to bring a fiancé to the US. Once that is approved, then it leaves the USCIS for the Dept of State (DOS). The embassy and National Visa Center fall under the DOS. That's where the foreign fiancé applies for a visa. Think of it as your second half of the process. USCIS is first part. DOS the second part. Don't do anything about London or support until you have reached Part 2.

So back to your I-129F petition.

How is your fiancé proving he is a US citizen (USC)? That is probably the most essential part.

Your proof of meeting should include perhaps a passport stamp showing each entering into the other's country. Do the theme park receipts have each of your names and a date? If not, probably don't prove you were together.

Have either of you been married before? If so, need divorce decrees.

I wouldn't bother with the letters from the parents, but it's your packet so any extras are your choice.

Other answers--

He does not get this packet back. Do not send anything but photocopies of evidence.

The USCIS will turn everything over to the DOS for Part 2 so it will end up in London. It will remain in your immigration file forever.

You do NOT need a photocopy of this petition packet he is going to send. They will have the original file in London, so you don't bring another. He should make one exact photocopy of the entire packet including the check, just so there is a record of what was sent. If for no other reason, you have a reference when you start reading other people's mistakes and wonder if your packet had the same mistake. If you are more Into this than him, then get him to mail it to you so you can look at it when you start second guessing if the check was made out to the correct name, etc.

Hope that helps.
