I posted this under the CR1 Processing Forum as well but it was suggested that I also post it here so I can get some Jamaica specific answers. This is hard to talk about but I need to be prepared. My husband can't read or write at all- I mean he can sign his name and I think he can write mine but that's about it. He knows the very basics. I have him set up with literacy programs when he gets here but I need to get him through this interview first! I am so panicked... I will be with him but I don't know if I can be of any help to him in terms of filling out the forms. Can someone please describe the requirements to me so I can prepare him properly and so we know what to expect?

Is this grounds for denial if the IO gets wind that my husband is not literate?

Thanks for your help.

When you get to Jamaica just be sure to go over each form and details about each so he knows. Quiz him until you are both comfortable. Maybe someone who has been to a interview similar to yours can give you details on the type of information they had to fill in during their interview. Good Luck!

Thanks girls. I was thinking of labeling each sheet with a post-it or something- i wonder if they ask for them in a specific order> I just wish i could be there with him to hand over the paperwork.
