After NOA2

Hi guys,

Hope everyone is ready for christmas!!!

So... we sent our RFE back 2 weeks ago and still waiting to hear on that... hoping NOA2 isnt far away... fingers crossed and all that. Just wondering if anyone can tell me what happens once we get our NOA2 and what things I need to get together... any forms I need to fill in etc?

Just so I can get things sent off quickly!

Fly out to see Russ in US in 6 sleeps hehehe for the holidays!

After you get your NOA2 your case is forwarded to the NVC for processing where you will receive a case number. Your application is then forwarded onto the embassy in your fiance's city.

Make sure she has a passport if not already.

You will need to gather proof of income and she will have a few documents to fill out. I think those papers may be specific to the country so ask someone from the UK to fill you in more on that.

What takes time is the passport - if she doesn't have one.

You can start gathering........

Beneficiary

- Complete DS-230 pt-1

- Complete DS-2001

- Two Passport photos

- Copy of the 1st 4 pages of the Passport

- Police Reports

US citizen

- I-134 notarized, Tax return and W2, and any additional financial info to help meet Poverty guidelines

Both

- Evidence for Interview!

Once NVC is finished, they'll be sending info to the Consulate. The Consulate will be expecting you to gather the items mentioned when they send the Packet #3. The Police reports go with you to the Interview, so does the I-134, Tax and Financial info. This way, you can return the Packet #3 the same day you receive it.

Since you'll be going through London, I'll just reiterate the suggestion of going ahead and filing to get your police report-- it takes about 40 days like clockwork, and it's valid for a year. If you get approved any time soon and get through the NVC as fast as some of the recent filers did (to NVC and to the embassy within 2 weeks), you'll do well to already have the police certificate on the way so packet 3 will be nearly complete the minute it's sent to you.

I forgot it took so long to get so it's going to cause us a slight delay (which sucks as we're shooting for a March marriage), so I figure this is one of the more important things to get on. Everything else we personally got done in a week or two.
