K1: 3 Weeks on READY status and found out we are on Administrative Review

Hi guys!

I just called the embassy to check on our situation because our status hasn't changed since our interview. Ready since September 3.

Just found out that we are on Administrative Review. They're gonna follow up my case to the team in charge of my visa and was advised to call again within the week. So I am gonna try to call again on Wednesday.

Anyone experience this here in the US Embassy Manila?

I'm getting a little worried and frankly, a little frustrated. Sometimes you cant help it.

Basically, no forms or letters were given during the interview and i was told that my visa was approved and wait for my visa.

Maybe a possible delay on our visa is that I was born in Libya? Could that be a flag? But i grew up here in the Philippines with my Mom and Grandparents.

Last time i was there was the year 2000, i was 14 then. But I have no plans going back because my parents are separated. The CO knows my situation so I don't think it would be a very big problem.....hopefully.

Any inspiring words would be very truly helpful

Hi.. I'm not a pro here, but I feel the same thing.. being on AP is so stressing especially if we thought all went smoothly. All we can do now is really have the patience to wait and wait.. Let's pray and hope that we'll receive our visa soon. I can't really understand why USEM is giving us a hard time on this knowing that we've been waiting from USCIS and NVC this long...

Hopes up! Let's be positive about this whole waiting game..

Being told to wait for an uncertain amount of time is stressful, if they could just give a specific time, even if its a month or 2, atleast you have a target time. I guess we just need a few words of encouragement from one another

Hope and pray and be positive. My prayer goes out to all those who are waiting to be issued and praying to be approved..

The fact you have ties to Libya may be why you are under AP. They might be doing some extra background checks just to be sure. The consulate may know your situation but the checks have to be done anyways. Hopefully you will find out something soon.

YES! glad someone started this topic up bec i was about to also! just chcked my status this morning and we were approved on wed @ the USEM for approval of visa ourselves.... and i got this:

Administrative Processing

Application ID or Case Number: Case Creation Date: 19-Sep-2013 Status Updated Date: 23-Sep-2013

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved after administrative processing, your passport will be delivered by our contracted courier to the address you specified when you booked your interview.

so what are the next steps from this point and what exactly does this status mean?? is the next step "issued"?? we tried calling 2GO and it's not yet in their hands either bec they said thur & fri embassy was closed due to the flooding scare.........

but for yall who also got approved recently send me a msg if u like!!! we're soOOooO close!!!!

One never knows what goes on behind those closed doors at USEM. We all can guess... but it's just that. AP takes as long as it takes, one more test of your patience. Sorry.

I truly hope AP is completed very soon for you..

Yes, exactly. It is unfair that they could process other visas for 3 days or 1 week only, why can't they do that to other visa as well even they already said approved. They didn't give me 221g 'cause my docs are complete, so what's keeping them to issue the visa? Why does it take so long?

We passed ours just a day after you but are expecting delays cuz USEM was apparently closed last Thurs & Fri due to the flooding situation... check your status and see what yours says...

Mine, no update since the 18th as well. I really hope mine is under AP too.
