Perhaps it's just that most come from large cities, which, because of their larger populations, will naturally have more men and women in the military than a small town, regardless of the overall percentages of the populations joining...

seems to correlate with population centers and places where military bases are located--Duh!

Also the concept of the Blue state Red state is stupid as the division is like nearly 50 - 50 in both blue and red states--or like 49 - 51 being the tipping point to red or blue--not a real reason to label either side as blue or red.

Google Blue State Red State Myth and you see just how ignorant is the labeling of states as either blue or red--think about it when 2000 and 2004 elections were pretty much deadheats, many states that supposedly voted blue nationally voted red locally and vice versa, even in off year presidential elections, 2002, 2006, etc.
