Hi all, I have a question. I am currently in America on a tourist visa and I do know that I can't get a job on it and working in any way is illegal. I however know that one can get a work visa but can one get it while on a tourist visa? Like back when I was in my country I would read things about it and what I got from it was that the employer has to help you fill the stuff for a work visa and that you'd have to find a job first, then do the paperwork? Or am I wrong? Back then I thought it'd be really hard to find an US employer while in Europe, but now that I am here, what can I do about it? I just want to know, thank you.

There is no single "work visa" for the US. It depends on what job you want to do (and are qualified to do), and how long you intend to stay.

Your prospective Employer's Lawyer handles the paperwork and would decide in conjunction with the Employer which would be the appropriate Visa to apply for.

PS A Visa is to enter the country.

you need to find a sponsorship, a company which can provide you h1b type visa. and i think this is not that easy. especially in that time. April is the best time to apply for.. and you need to be qualified which means the company must prove that it really needs you! as i said it's not that easy.. good luck:)
