Does Hate speech exist in other religions besides Islam.. absolutely.

Do other religions (besides Islam) encourage rape & genocide...nope.

Yeah, the Crusades were something Muslims made up for sh*ts and giggles.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

So it's okay for Terry Jones to burn a bunch of religious books because it's freedom of speech - but American Muslims that try to utilize their right to speak freely by vocalizing anti-war or critical political sentiments are put on an FBI/PD watch list and monitored in their houses of worship without any proof of criminal wrongdoing? I'm all for freedom of speech when it's applied to everyone equally. If it's not then stop yer whining.

got anything this Century

Westboro Baptist Church, various hate crimes against homosexuals committed in the name of Christianity, the hate speech drivel that is spewed by "Christians" on the daily, Catholic priests molesting little boys, etc.

Just a few days ago, a pastor was arrested for trying to "#### the gay" out of little boys.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

I did. I'm not stating hate speech doesn't exist in other religions. What thread are we on?

My point on this thread = Freedom of Speech should not be suppressed to satisfy Sharia.

Perhaps you need to jump over to the Rape Cleric thread...?

Again...you brought this up.

Murder and rape happens in the name of Christianity all the time.

The Lambs of Christ for example...so godly.

Where was freedom of speech suppressed to satisfy Sharia? You must be in the wrong thread. This thread is about a pastor that was arrested and faces charges because he broke the law. He was not arrested because he wanted to exercise his First Amendment rights. There was no suppression of any First Amendment rights. Laws were broken and the law breaker was taken into custody and is to be charged for his breaking the law. That's all there is. Law enforcement at work.
Jones, 61, was arrested on felony charges after a traffic stop near a pharmacy in Mulberry, a small town in Polk County, just before 5 p.m. He faces charges of unlawfully transporting fuel and openly carrying a firearm.

Deputies said Jones was riding in a pickup truck that was towing a smoker and trailer filled with kerosene-soaked Qurans. He also had extra bottles of kerosene inside the truck bed.

According to Jones' website, he planned to burn 2,998 Qurans in the Tampa Bay area on Wednesday. He was arrested along with Associate Pastor Marvin Sapp.

Sapp's pickup truck was seized. He also was charged with unlawfully transporting fuel and was cited for improper lighting on the trailer.

"My detectives had many conversations with Terry Jones prior to today," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said Wednesday. "He was told he was welcome to come to Polk County and express his First Amendment rights. However, if he violated the law, he would absolutely be arrested and placed in the county jail.

"On Sept. 11, he arrived in Polk County, violated the law, and our detectives arrested him and booked him into the county jail just as he was informed."

I watched the three part PBS series on the life of Mohammed. According to the Muslim scholars commenting on Sharia, Sharia is an imperfect creation of man collectively trying to interpret the Word of God as to how humans should live with each other. Mohammed was a reformer, and quite liberal in his ideas for his time. The Revelations given to Mohammed by God concerning various incidents in Mohammed's life, showed God to be compassionate and forgiving, not at all vengeful or unyielding. The Muslim scholars suggested with that spirit, the leaders in the Muslim faith should get together, and bring the body of Sharia law in line with the modern world.

Now that I know what he was actually arrested for, I retract my statement saying he shouldn't have been.

I felt that information was sorely lacking in this thread. And yes, I am aware that this thread wasn't started to inform but to stir fake outrage. Same goes for the article posted in the OP. Not surprising - it's from the Washington Times. And not surprising considering who started this thread.

I didn't state it was.

Review prior posts = My conversation (with Marvin) evolved into a Freedom of Speech versus Sharia discussion. Please catch up before you twist my words again. wink.png
