I want to bake for my co-workers. I have thought of fudge or truffles, but does anyone else...Marilyn??...have any other good ideas of things to bake?? Mini -breads?? Cookies?? I think it will be cheaper than buying gifts!

I hear you on that! I am baking layered rum brownies and putting them in cute containers that I bought last year in the after-Christmas sales.

Basically, they're brownies with rum soaked in and icing on top. Usually a big hit! Let me know if you want the recipe.

Back rubs for your co-workers. Exercise for you and no calories for them. :)

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I do the same thing...bake for co-workers. I did decorated sugar cookies last year. I will never ever EVER do that again. I mean I was seeing cookies in my sleep for weeks. This year I just did a combo container...oatmeal cranberry, choco-pecan, and choco chip. So far all have been eaten and enjoyed.

I get tins and distribute them at our christmas party. Along with a few other goodies that we pull together for our employees!

oh just found one... they are usually a big hit but they are a bit messy to make....

Creamy Snowballs

4 ounce package cream cheese

2 cups icing/powdered sugar

2 teaspoons milk

2/3 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips

1/2 tsp vanilla

3 cups mini coloured marshmallows

coconut for rolling

Combine the first 5 ingredients together in a bowl and beat until smooth. Fold in marshmallows. Shape into 1-1/4 inch balls and roll in coconut. These freeze well. Makes about 3 dozen.

* it helps to chill the mixture for a bit before rolling them into balls...

*******************************************************

these are super simple but a big hit too....

Lemon Drops

1 beaten egg

3 tablesppons milk

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 -- 2 layer size lemon cake mix

Sugar for rolling

Combine egg, milk and oil. Add cake mix; stir until mixture clings together. Form into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned on the bottom. Cool about 1 minute. Remove to rack to cool completely.

*I have tried making the Lemon drop cookies using different cake mixes.... One of my favourites is using a pecan cake mix and then adding about 1/2 cup or so of mini chocolate chips....
