Sponsoring parents to move to US

I'm a US citizen and am trying to sponsor my parents to move to the US.

When I looked at the 1-130 form, they require a birth certificate that has both my parents names and my name on it and marriage certificate of my parents.

These will be in Korean and obviously I'll have to have them translated. My question is: can I be the person who translates these documents as I'm fully bilingual or do I need to ask a third party to translate these documents? And if I need to ask a third party, can it be any commercial translation service?

If anyone knows, I'd really appreciate your response!

For USCIS you do NOT need a certified third party translation. USCIS does state the translator has to be "competent to translate" the documents. This doesn't mean that he/she has can't be you or has to be accredited by some official agency.

However, you will need an (accredited) certified translation for other goverment agencies later (like the Social Security Administration to get a SS number), so getting it done now, won't hurt and only costs around $50 anyway.

Please submit certified translations for all foreign language documents. The translator must certify that s/he is competent to translate and that the translation is accurate.

The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is:
