Hello all...well i have question about US passports, did not think it fit into any other forum so I thought to post it here...

Well here goes...my daughter has a US passport which expires in 2 years, but a page of it is torn (oops)...so I am wondering if it still valid...I have not touched it (taped it I mean)...I have tried to call my local post office to ask, but cannot get through...I donnot know who to ask...and we are traveling in early Jan...I think not enough time to get another one...and if it is still valid why would I want to? Any info would be appreciated and helpful...if even a www or number to call...Thanks everyone!

Happy Holidays!

Why replace your United States passport?

If your passport has been lost, stolen, altered, mutilated, damaged, or your name has changed, you should request a new U.S. passport as soon as possible. Note that individuals with altered or mutilated passport may risk prosecution under the law: Section 1543 of Title 22 of the U.S. Code.
