police certificate

Since the background check is a search of the RCMP database, does it actuallly matter to the consulate which local police jurisdiction you go to request your certificate from? I don't live in Toronto, but the cost there is around $22 compared to $40+ in surrounding areas.

My guess is this is ok because they seem to accept commissionares reports and I've read about people having to get another certificate in Montreal (because the one they originally got was too old) at the time of their interview.

It shouldn't matter where you get it, as long as it has your full name and it's clearly stated that the national database was searched.

Mine was $25 right at an RCMP office. Montreal accepts them for up to a year.
