Yet it can range from N21000 to N30000, if he is 40 or over another N10,000.

Same with PCC can be as cheap as N3500 to N10,000.

Fair? That's subjective for Nigeria

Anyways, Wife just paid N25k for the exam and shots yet she paid at least that in October last year and she already had proof of shots.

I lay the blame at DOS for creating the money grab.

Anyways, police clearance was N7,5 in Ibadan. I've heard that you can get it for N5k in Lagos.

Good info as I intend to go for my PCC on Monday in Lagos. As for the medicals, what vaccines exactly are required in Nigeria. My mum confirmed I had all required shots as a baby, though the records as well as other vital docs were destroyed during a fire incident years ago.

My question is since I had the vaccines as a baby and no records to show now, do I need to take the required shots again. Then, can someone help me list out all the required shots in Nigeria, please. I would rather take the shots in a hospital under my HMO scheme and present the records during my medicals.

Any advice, please.

You will get the basic 3 shots the tetanus MMR, DTR they will ask you some questions about childhood illness and how you answer will determine what other shots and test you may need. Most only get the 3 maybe 4 at most shots. results can be picked up in 4 days.

Usually if you get PCC form the headquarters in Algabon its that cheaper fare.

Just go to the embassy website and look around for medical the shots are listed. Usually shots not given by them they don' like that but you can try.

TSC is yet to send to NVC. But I want to be as proactive as possible. I want to use the benefits of my HMO scheme to prerun whatever required tests; sputum and all to be sure everything is okay.

If okay, works fine but if not, @least I can start treatment now and hope to be fine by the time I go for medicals. I wouldn't want to have delays for treatment purpose during medicals.

In my opinion and based on our experience, don't waste your time and money. Just take extra money and just do everything there. They charge you anyways.

Which facility did you use?

The DOS is really doing us a disfavor.

They clustered the only two approved facility in the whole country within miles of each other with no oversight on cost.

Let's lay the blame where it belongs. The DOS does not set the pricing. The doctors do. The DOS contracts with the clinics. The contract is binding on both ends. When the contract expires, DOS changes clinics. How about some individual moral responsiblity on the part of the clinics?

Well, we'll agree to disagree on that. I work in healthcare and part of the reason why healthcare reform is a hot topic in the past few years. Some entities cannot be trusted to make fair decisions without oversight. There's no reason not to have more than 2 clinics in a country of that size in order to create competition.

The sputum test to detect TB. And you have to get it through them. If it came up positive you would have to wait 8 weeks and then test again. If still positive thats 6 months of treatment.

Unfortunately its not a go wherever you want to go to do testing and physical has to be done by the wither of the two clinics.

All testing and shots are done with results ready fo pick up in 4 days.

remember once you have medical the clock to arrive in US starts. You have 6 months. No one should be getting a physical before at least a month of interview. Just to be safe.

By chance is your man 40 years or older? Also were you there with him when he had medical done?

This isn't the norm. You are the first i have heard this from (and dear I talk with and contact hundreds going through Lagos for medicals).

Trust me if Nigerians or Americans were paying $640, oh it would be broadcast loudly through my network of contacts trust me on that one. Heck when medical went from N15,000-N18,000 to N25,000 to N30,000 people about went nuts.
