The EP confirmation letter says from that point on all documents must be sent as pdf files. A few days after sending in the DS-230 it occurred to me that there were no electronic versions of the files sent originally with the i-130, marriage records, passport etc. Should I have scanned all that in and attached it to the 230?

I can't find a good answer through a search of the site. Thanks, Jon

Jon- I learned that the bonafide marriage evidence I submitted with the I-130 was NOT in the SAFEFILE version of the casefile,

so I sent it on with the DS-230 submittal

and

4 more email sets.

As the first page of each email set, I had the IV Cover Page.

IMO, it slowed down the clock by 10 calendar days.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thanks Darnell. How did you find out what's in the Safefile? I've been assuming that the white book version of the marriage cert. that we sent to USCIS then moved to the NVC.

But like so many things in this process, there's no clear answer on the travel.state.gov website.

I learned by engaging the same Supervisor for 6 days - it took em that long to 'open up the casefile' and review what is in SAFEFILE. PITA, IMO, but it was useful to know about the lack.

re: white book marriage cert - you have a scan of that already, yes? it goes again , with the DS-230 thingie.

re: official stuff for the I-130 - it's in SAFEFILE - but my bonafide marriage evidence was not.

IF you are thinking to yank the white book marriage certificate from the I-130 and add to the IV set, solely at NVC - I'll ask - you did submit just a photocopy with the I-130, yes? no ?

Yeah, we have the original and the digital image. I can pull together another pdf.

It's pretty amazing. You send the stuff to USCIS, after they're done you wait six weeks for them to send the file to NVC and then it turns out they don't send the supporting information? God Bless America! I could probably design a less efficient system, but I would have to think hard. Oh well, at least the US officials don't expect Red Envelopes the way the Chinese do, so we've got that going for us.

i think was specific to me, personally, based on the fact that the casefile was adjudicated in Dallas.

Who knows? maybe your local office actually sent all on.
