senate help

Hi, the visa office is taking a while with our RFE review. Do you suggest I get the senate to help move things along before OR after they finally get back to us about the RFE? They (a woman in the senate office) has agreed to help if we have problems after awaiting our RFE response, but I can't hep but wonder if her voicing some support for us now might be more useful, before they reject us.

Sailor765- how long have you been waiting, we just returned our RFE, they got it on 7/16 - the notice states they have 60 days to make a decision, but have heard some recieving an approval in 4-7 days.

We got our NOA1 on Dec 12 - so this has been a long process

The senator's office can't "do" anything, so it doesn't matter before or after. All they can do is request information on the case, which might speed it up because the embassy is required to respond quickly to a senator, so if the application is just sitting on a desk somewhere, the senator's prod might get it picked up and reviewed.

Or it might not. And then all they can really do is advise you and prod the embassy. So I say: prod sooner rather than later.
