Hi all,

Looking for some advice on the name change subject. I'm a USC and my fiance is a Canadian here on a TN visa. Anybody have advice on when / how we should start the name change process? From anybody who has experience, should we change my fiance's name immediately after the wedding or should we wait until receiving a green card?

If we start the name change process before filing for permant residence, does this affect the current TN visa?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

File for the GC in married name. Otherwise you have to pay to get it changed. Then work on changing the things you can. It;s okay to have two names for a while. Once she gets her GC that will be a perfect document in her new name to change anything still lagging behind.

AOS for my husband
