Our petition is ongoin on the initial review. Its more than 9months now goin' to 10months and we got RFE this last April 29,2013 for the missing copy of my fiance's criminal record. We complied May 15, 2013 turned in to Responsed Review 2 days after, May 17,2013. My fiance is an active military and his criminal record was only because he caught driving under the influence of alcohol way back more than a decade now. We did alot of inquiries for our petition just to know whats goin' on and there were some agents which are nice while some are being rude. We got this contact info recently directed to immigration thats exclusively for military only. And finally they got to answer our question. Immigration told us that updating one's petition doesnt mean that they started over it like for example we got our RFE. And 2 months after it went back to initial review and they told us that the other unit of the government does the background checking but they put us on hold checking our backgrounds so USCIS cannot be able to proceed into to the next step. So we told them we didn't lie into anything. Everything is genuine. We complied for what is missing. They've been checking our petition and our backgrounds since October 17,2012 'til April 2013 until now July 2013. So how could that be? My fiance is in military so if theres any problem about his background its easy to trace or track and proly couldn't be able to work in the army. While I've only been into one country. Never got any criminal record here and outside of my country. I got my police certificate from the country I've been before and my NBI here in the Philippines showing of no criminal records report. And I'm the only one having my name in this country 'coz if i had "HIT" or having same name in to other people or unspecific person NBI should've told me that day I got into their office to get my certificate. So now we don't know what else it could be or what other reasons it may be because we are genuine and we didnt do something wrong . We are not fraud. So what else could we do about this? We told them if were denied why they just couldnt tell us straight so we could just start for another petition, go on and not just like waiting in vain.

Awesome!!! Now do it here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=164107 :D

Yep just like we thought. Just wondering y theyve put us on hold. so that uscis could now proceed into the next step . sad.png . Thanks anyways

It's quite possible that they're just being slow as well. At this point the USC should get their senator or congressman involved as well as asking for a service request.
